The diagram opposite shows a cross section of a typical flat roof and the kerb or upstand on which the lantern will be fixed.
When specifying the required size of lantern you need to provide the external size of your upstand including the roof membrane and allow for a 6mm overhang

With multiple glass options heat loss should not be a concern and we find that the structure around the lantern is normally so well insulated that their should be minimal if any any heat loss.
Our lanterns normally include solar self-clean glass as standard. In terms of cleaning, we recommend warm soapy water and a cloth.
